Natural Home Remedies to Achieving Shinier and Healthier HairJuly 9, 2018
Having shinier and healthier hair need not be expensive. There are actually natural remedies that you can try at home to achieve this goal. If possible, you should begin avoiding hair products that come with harsh and dangerous chemicals because not only do they damage your hair and your scalp but can also have some damaging effects on your health.
Adding some shine to your hair can be done even at the comfort of your own home. It all starts with incorporating the habit of using cold water when rinsing your hair. If your shower head has some attachment, just angle the cold water directly to your scalp to help in sealing up your hair cuticles. If your hair cuticles are closed, they aid in reflecting sunlight rather than absorbing it. Rinsing your hair with hot water can make your scalp sweat, and in turn, can increase the oil production from your scalp. So, if possible, turn the temperature down and rinse off your hair with a cooler temperature of water.
Choose a shampoo for cleaning your hair that is specific to your particular hair texture. If there is color in your hair, be sure to choose a shampoo and conditioner for colored hair. By selecting the right kind of shampoo for your hair texture, you avoid smothering your hair follicles and drying your scalp out. If you are used to blow drying your hair, stop this habit now. You are just making your hair look duller and drier. You should practice the habit of just letting your hair dry naturally to avoid this.
Now, what follows are some natural home remedies that are proven and tested and some things that you must try out. For shinier and healthier looking skin, start with using the vinegar method. This is not the white vinegar variant that you use for cleaning certain areas of your home, by the way.
You begin by buying a bottle of apple cider vinegar. For hair application, pour some apple cider into your spray bottle and then have them applied all over your scalp. Have this done while you are still in the shower and wait a couple of minutes before washing them off. Try doing this method at least two to three times in one week.
Do you have some essential oils at home that you use for a wide range of health indications? If you do and you have tea tree oil, try mixing together a cap of your favorite shampoo and a teaspoon of this particular essential oil. But if you do not have essential oils at home, you can use other types of oil.
Try using some olive oil or almond oil on your hair. As you apply it, make sure that you do it in a gentle massage motion in your scalp. After you are done with this step, be sure to brush out the entire length of your hair.
Now, if you want to make sure that your hair looks shiny before going to another place or to work, be sure to brush it for a good 3 to 5 minutes. Not only will your hair look shinier but also it will achieve some fluff. The massaging effect that your brush has on your scalp is also a great way to keep the blood circulating.
